Nancy Spain Cockrell, age 79, of Eugene, Oregon, passed away peacefully at her home in Eugene, Oregon on March 3, 2026.

Born on March 2, 1947, in Galveston, Texas, to Tommy Lee and Alice Frances Cockrell, Nancy devoted her life to education and service. She worked as a teacher and counselor at Lane County Community College, where she was deeply committed to mentoring and tutoring her students. Her guidance left a lasting impact on countless lives.

A devoted member of the Baha’i Faith community, Nancy was known for her unwavering kindness and generosity. She extended her care not only to her students but also to friends and neighbors in need, embodying the principles of compassion and service throughout her life.

Nancy is survived by her many friends and members of the Baha’i community who cherished her friendship and wisdom. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Lee and Alice Frances Cockrell, as well as her sister, Mary Frances Gilbert (Cockrell).

Nancy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her legacy of kindness and dedication continue to inspire others.
