USMC Master Sergeant Patrick "Mac" McCoy
September 24, 1950 – July 27, 2025
Patrick “Mac” McCoy went home to be with his Savior, Jesus, on July 27, 2025, passing peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on September 24, 1950, in Ewa Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii, Mac joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 as part of an all-Hawaii platoon. He proudly served his country for 23 years, completing two tours in Vietnam—where he was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds recieved in combat—and later serving during Desert Storm.
Following his military retirement, Mac worked in construction before joining Lane County Public Works, where he served the community for eight years before retiring.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mac was an avid boxing fan who loved camping, fishing, and caring for his home and yard. In his later years, he found joy in building a beautiful garden with his wife, Fran.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Fran; his daughters Tiffani and Julei of California; his son Kawika of Eugene; eight grandchildren: April (Isaac), Junior, Puka, Pua, Jonah, Aliyah aka Alpha, Alannah aka Bravo, Athenah aka Charlie ; three great-grandchildren: Ikaika, Izaiah, and Alani; his sister Kehau of Texas; three brothers of Hawaii; and his loyal dog, Bailey.
