It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard “Dick” Cameron, born on April 23, 1932, in Overhills, North Carolina. Dick We will remember for his witty sense of humor and his generosity to others.
Dick served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1955. He was stationed in Mountain Home, Idaho where he met Elinor Garrels, they married in 1952. Dick worked in the Insurance field, Real Estate and in 1974 moved the family to Oregon. Where they bought the Umpqua Beach Resort. He ended his work life employed by the Winchester Bay Sanitary District.
Dick Cameron passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, surrounded by family. His wife Elinor preceded him in death in 2004. He is survived by his four children Dennis Cameron (Tencha), Doug Cameron, Bruce Cameron (Debbie) and Kellie Dial (Pete). His eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great, great, grandchild, numerous friends and relatives. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on through the many lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be held at Bedrocks in Winchester Bay, Oregon on June 28th from 2pm to 4pm. where family and friends will gather to pay their respects and share cherished memories.
