Robert “Rob” Richard Gibson of Eugene, Oregon, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 53. Rob was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Carolyn Gibson and Robert Gibson. He grew up throughout Oregon and Washington, later moving to Tennessee in 2021 before recently returning home to Oregon — the place he always loved most.
Rob was a skilled millwright with many years of experience in the timber industry. He also brought his knowledge and expertise to his work as a professional millwright technician for FedEx. He took great pride in his problem-solving abilities and strong work ethic. Rob was the kind of man who could fix nearly anything — and often did. Outside of work, Rob loved the outdoors. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and mushroom picking, and found peace in the forests and back roads of Oregon.
Rob is survived by his father, Robert Gibson; his sister, Shannon Hunter; his brother-in-law, Paul Hunter; his nieces, Brittiany Sizemore and Brayanna Montgomery; his nephews, Trenton Hunter and Beau Hunter; and many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Gibson, and his sister, Monnie Hawk.
“The mountains are calling, and I must go.” — John Muir
Rob heard that call one last time and has gone Home to the place where his spirit is free — among the rivers, forests, and open skies he loved so much.
