Robert “Bob” Carl Kreibich
December 26, 1940 - May 27, 2026
With profound love we celebrate the life of Bob Kreibich, beloved friend, father, grandfather, and our Northern Star.
He transitioned home to the light in a peaceful manner and on his own terms, which was reflective of his life and core beliefs.
He will forever be known as Mr. Enthusiastic, due to his unending enthusiasm for every little thing in life: A beautiful moon (or just the moon visible in the sky), a simple neighborhood park, a yummy meal, time with family, artwork by one of his three grandkids. . . “this is goddamn incredible!” He found endless joy in every moment and was never afraid to share it.
Bob had a sense of humor that professional comedy writers dream of, and his family and friends appreciated the chance to connect and bond over shared laughter. His life was a constant reminder that generosity, laughter, and love are the only things that matter. He believed in living simply and simply living.
His children, Carl and Amy (Liber), were never far and he embraced being a grandpa, “Pop-Pop,” to his 3 grandkids Calvin, Sadie, and Maddie. He held his first grandchild, Calvin, and told him that he was going to make him into a little “stormtrooper” so they could “rule the world together.” He welcomed all into the family, including in-laws Nikki, Adam, and Etienne, as well as being a foster grandparent for several years.
Although he lived in many different places (Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, New York, Texas, Arizona, and South America - to name a few), he settled into the cozy town of Eugene Oregon for his final years.
Everywhere he went he made friends and found his niche in the local arts scene. In Eugene he was a die-hard supporter of the Shedd Institute and proudly displayed his programs and tickets on his apartment wall. (He saw their production of The Wizard of Oz 3 times because it was “goddam phenomenal and they had a real dog for Toto!”) These shows were sure to be followed by a meal and glass of wine at local restaurant Rye.
Bob believed in Taoism and the duality of life. He believed that ego destroyed the soul. He constantly reminded us that in order to live fully, we must embrace ALL of the elements that write the scripts of our lives. He believed that all of life is connected, and we are intertwined through energy and thought, so make beautiful choices and let the world feel the ripples of joy.
It is often said that one should “go with the flow” as a metaphor for moving though this human incarnation. But Pop was the epitome of “flow with the go.” He would picture himself in his raft, with his Pooh Bear as an adventure companion, and they would flow wherever life took them.
