Longtime Junction City resident Robert N. Wilson, lovingly known as Bob, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 27, 2026.
Robert was born on July 31, 1938, in Bakersfield, California, to Bernace “Curley” and Helen Wilson. He grew up in Merrill, Oregon, where he graduated from high school in 1956. In 1960, Robert entered the United States Air Force, serving until 1963 as a linguistics specialist. During his service, he became fluent in Mandarin Chinese, reflecting his lifelong love of learning and history.
In 1967, Robert married the love of his life, Linda Wilson. Together they built a life rooted in family, raising their two sons, Matt and Andrew, and sharing nearly six decades of partnership, travel, and adventure.
Robert dedicated 23 years of service to the Eugene Police Department, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. His career was marked by commitment, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility to his community.
Robert was a lifelong Mason and a proud member of the Shriners, values that reflected his dedication to fellowship, service, and helping others.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bernace “Curley” Wilson and Helen Wilson, and his brother, Richard “Buck” Wilson, in 2021.
He is survived by his beloved wife Linda of Junction City; his son Matt Wilson and daughter-in-law Trish of Harrisburg; his son Andrew Wilson of Bend; and his cherished grandsons Ty, Dax, and Seth, who brought him immense pride and joy.
A devoted University of Oregon Ducks fan, Robert rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team. He enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, including traveling with Linda, trivia, fishing, gardening, camping, hunting, studying history, cooking, and—most of all—watching his grandsons compete in sporting events. Time spent with family was always his greatest joy.
Robert will be remembered for his sharp mind, steady presence, and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of service, curiosity, and devotion that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
