Rosie Andreason

September 27, 1935 — March 16, 2025

Rosella (Rosie) was welcomed into Heaven early on Sunday morning, March 16, 2025. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with her husband and children by her side. She was 89 years old. Rosie was born in Amidon North Dakota on September 27, 1935. She was the daughter of Matt and Barbara Koffler and was one of the youngest of twelve children. Her family moved to Eugene in 1937, and she was raised on a small farm on Chambers Street, which at that time was close to Eugene’s original airport. Rosie was the last surviving Koffler child.

Rosie attended St. Mary’s School in Eugene. She met the love of her life, Forrest (Andy), at a local high school dance, and married him in San Diego while he was serving in the Navy. They returned to Eugene and raised a close-knit family of seven children.

Rosie was a loving wife and wonderful mother who cherished her family. She loved arts and crafts; she was always busy creating something. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing beautiful clothes for her family. She enjoyed oil painting with many pieces of her artwork now hanging in her children’s and grandchildren’s homes. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, dancing, and many other hobbies. She loved to go crabbing on the coast and had fond memories of years of camping with family and friends at Loon Lake. She especially cherished her annual family reunions with her Koffler family, which numbered in the hundreds. She and Andy also looked forward to their annual trip to Yuma, enjoying the life of snowbirds with their many friends. She held a special place in her heart for her two little dogs, Annie and Dolly.

Her life was a testament to her Catholic faith, and she was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Bosnia which spiritually strengthened her faith and love for the Blessed Virgin Mary.

She is survived by her husband Andy, who recently celebrated their 73rd anniversary a few days before she passed. She loved her role as mother to her seven children and their spouses, Steve and Roka, Karlene and Jack, Stacey and Jim, Sue and Tom, Lisa and Jeff, Jeff and Carrie, and Darren and Clara. She was a proud grandmother of twenty grandchildren: Stephanie, Katie, Jillian, Stephanie, Clifford, Riley, Shay, Adam, Taryn, Mary Rose, Lonnie, AJ, Aaliyah, Brennan, Ally, Teale, Trace, Candice, Evan and Issac. In addition, she adored her twenty-four great-grandchildren: Evie, Tennessee, Miles, Henry, Logan, Jayden, West, Cal, Gideon, Mili, John Paul, Josh, Audrey, Charlie, Savana, Alanna, Amara, Jaclyn, Robin, Coen, Onyx, Opal, Rumi and a baby boy due in June.

Rosie’s family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful caregivers from Signature Hospice, who gave her tender and extraordinary care, especially Nadina, Kim, Darcey, Molly and Bria.

Those who wish to remember Rosie can make a gift to the Marist Foundation.
