It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Meyers on May 19th, 2026, after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer.

Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Ken, sons and daughter-in-law’s, Larry and Carmen, Kenny and Marci, Tim and Lexie, and Jason and Tami. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Dominick and Wacara, Katlyn and Ryan, Shelby and Jairus, Tyler and Chloe, Brevin, Keenan, Reed, Siena and Issy; and survived by two brothers Carl and Emer; all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Shirley found happiness in the simple moments – gathering around a campfire, enjoying the outdoors, antiquing, and creating lasting memories on family camping trips. Her warmth, strength, and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She will be remembered for her love of family, her kind heart, and many memories shared with those closest to her. Shirley’s presence will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Shotgun Creek in Marcola at noon on Saturday June 6th, 2026. Open to all who knew and loved Shirley.
