He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Charlene; their daughter, Sharon; his sister, Nancy; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Florence Kimball, and his son, Bruce.
Stan was born on November 18, 1930, in Newton, Massachusetts. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 as a Quartermaster aboard the USS George. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and successful career with Hughes Aircraft, where he worked for over 30 years. He was also an active member of the Freemasons and dedicated himself to supporting various charitable causes.
In 1953, Stan married the love of his life, Charlene Britton, after meeting her on a blind date. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and enduring partnership. They raised two children, Sharon and Bruce, and created a home filled with laughter, warmth, and shared adventures.
After retiring in 1985, Stan and Charlene moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where they embraced an active and fulfilling retirement. Stan enjoyed golfing, cruising the world with Charlene, and participating in local clubs, including the Yacht Club and Elks Lodge. In 2019, they moved to Oregon to be closer to family.
Stan will be remembered as a kind, humorous, and loving man whose easy smile and joyful spirit touched everyone he met. His life was defined by service, generosity, and deep devotion to those he loved.
He was laid to rest with military honors on November 18, 2021—what would have been his 91st birthday—at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
