Susan
Lariviere
Jun 22, 1958 — Oct 2, 2026
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness...." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Susan Mary Lariviere passed away peacefully in Eugene, Oregon on October 2, 2026, following a courageous, years-long journey with Alzheimer's dementia. She was 68 years old. Through every season of her illness, her gentle spirit and the love she held for her family never faded.
Born on June 22, 1958, in Wilmington, California, to Tom and Donna Armijo, Susan grew up in a lively household as one of five siblings. It was during her youth at Phineas Banning High School that she met the love of her life, Mike. The high school sweethearts were married in 1976 and shared 28 beautiful years of marriage and devotion before his passing. Susan possessed an enormous love for her Savior. Her life was a living testament to her deep, unwavering faith, and she found great joy and peace in attending church.
Susan's hands were rarely still, and her heart was always open. She loved to tend her garden, nurture beautiful blooms, cook delicious meals that brought everyone together, and play with her grandkids. Susan approached life with a rare sense of whimsy and wonder, ensuring that everyone who crossed her path experienced her trademark kindness, generosity, and welcoming warmth.
Her greatest masterpiece and legacy was her family. Susan is survived by her four devoted children, David, Christina, Amanda and Roger. She was the proud, adoring grandmother of 13 grandchildren and the doting great-grandmother of one precious great-granddaughter. She also leaves behind her cherished surviving siblings and a community of friends who loved her dearly.
Susan has been peacefully reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Mike; her parents, Tom and Donna; her brother Jimmy; and her sweet grandson, Bradley.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Mike.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Susan's memory to the Alzheimer's Association to support research and families facing the disease.
Her love, faith, and gentle grace will live on forever in the hearts of those she left behind.
