Susan Lathrop was born into a family of seven children on August 20, 1958. She got along with everyone. Her kindness was evident from an early age, even before she could walk. She grew into a strong and independent woman, leaving her Midwest roots to attend the University of Oregon, where she made her lifelong home.

Sue enjoyed traveling, cooking, camping, fishing, and hiking. She was actively involved with the Boy Scouts and had a passion for whitewater rafting, working as a rafting guide. She dedicated three decades of her career to the IRS.

She was a fierce advocate for her three sons, Ryan Johnson, Eric Johnson, and Andrew Anderson (Carla). She is also survived by her siblings, Janet Ludin, Cathy Crossland (Scott), Bill Herold, Mary Morris (Kevin), Matthew Herold, and Sarah Bass (Howard).

Sue will be long remembered for her patience, relatability, sense of humor, determination, and kindness. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, April 25, from noon to 3 p.m. at Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield, OR.
